Privacy Policy
Ring Timer — Boxing & MMA Round Timer · Last updated: 27 September 2026
- No account, no sign-in, no ads. The app never asks for your name, email or phone number.
- Your presets, workout history, settings and health data stay on your device.
- The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count, anonymously, how the app is used (for example which onboarding screens people finish and whether a workout was completed), so I can improve it.
- The app uses RevenueCat to handle Pro purchases.
- Both services use random IDs that are not tied to your identity.
- Nothing is used for advertising. Nothing is sold. The app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
('I', 'me', 'we') refers to the software developer who developed this application. I built the Ring Timer app for iPhone, Apple Watch and Android. This SERVICE is provided by me and is intended for use as is.
This page is used to inform users regarding my policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use my Service.
If you choose to use my Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. I will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collection and Use
Ring Timer does not require an account. You never need to provide a name, email address, phone number or any other directly identifying information to use the app, and I do not ask for it. The app has no AI features, and the core timer works fully offline.
The only data that leaves your device is described below, in "Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)" and "Data processing for in-app purchases". It is sent only when a network connection is available.
Summary of data that leaves your device
| Data | Sent to | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Random identifiers: Firebase app instance ID, anonymous RevenueCat app user ID and, on iPhone, the identifier for vendor (IDFV) | Google (Firebase), RevenueCat | Analytics, app functionality |
| How you use the app: screens and steps you complete, buttons such as start or restore, features used, error codes | Google (Firebase) | Analytics |
| Purchase history: product, price, currency, trial, renewal and cancellation status | RevenueCat, Google (Firebase), my private dashboard | Unlocking Pro, fraud prevention, analytics |
| Approximate location: country, region and city, derived from your IP address | Google (Firebase), RevenueCat | Analytics, store country and currency |
| Device and app information: device model, operating system, app version, language | Google (Firebase), RevenueCat | Analytics, app functionality |
Data stored on your device
The following is created by you and kept in local storage on your device only:
- Presets: round length, rest, number of rounds, warnings, sounds and Coach Mode options.
- Workout history: date, duration and rounds completed for workouts you run, which power your streaks and stats.
- Settings: sound, voice, haptics, theme and similar preferences, your onboarding answers, and whether you have completed onboarding.
This data is never uploaded to me or to any server I operate. I cannot see your presets or workout history, and I cannot recover them for you. They stay on your device until you delete them in the app or uninstall the app. On iPhone, your device's own backups (for example iCloud Backup) may include app data, according to your Apple settings. The Android app opts out of Android cloud backup.
Apple Watch
The Apple Watch app runs on your watch and stores its presets and settings locally on the watch. It contains no analytics or purchase SDKs, and it sends no data to me or to any third party. Workouts you finish on the watch are passed to the paired iPhone app like any other workout, and the iPhone app counts them in its analytics (see below).
Apple Health
On iPhone and Apple Watch, if you choose to connect it, Ring Timer can:
- save your boxing workouts to Apple Health;
- on Apple Watch, read your heart rate and active energy during a workout, to show effort per round.
This is optional. It happens only after you grant permission in the system prompt, and you can revoke it at any time in the Health app. The Android app does not access Health Connect or any other health data.
- Health data is read and written on your device only. It is never sent to me, to Google, to RevenueCat or to any other third party, and it is never included in analytics.
- Health data is never used for advertising, marketing or data mining, and is never sold.
- The app does not store health data in iCloud or any other cloud service.
Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To understand how the app is used and to improve it, the iPhone and Android apps use Google Analytics for Firebase, a service provided by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). Google processes this data as a service provider on my behalf. I use it to see, in aggregate, things like how many people finish onboarding, which features are used, whether the paywall works and where errors happen.
What is collected
- Identifiers:
- a random app instance ID that Firebase creates when the app is installed;
- on iPhone, Apple's identifier for vendor (IDFV);
- the same anonymous RevenueCat app user ID described below, which is set as the analytics user ID so purchase and usage events can be counted together.
- App usage events:
- app opens, sessions and first launch;
- onboarding screens viewed and completed, including the options you pick there (sport, experience level, goal, training frustrations, where you train, music and round length);
- whether you allowed a permission prompt such as notifications;
- paywall views and purchase steps (product, whether it has a free trial, and whether the purchase completed, failed with an error code or was cancelled);
- restore purchases;
- whether a workout was completed or ended early;
- features used (for example Coach Mode, Gym Clock or the Apple Watch);
- free-plan limits reached;
- error codes shown in the app;
- whether a rating prompt was shown.
- Purchase events:
- in-app purchase events measured automatically by the SDK (product ID, price, currency);
- subscription lifecycle events (trial started, renewal, cancellation, expiration) that RevenueCat sends to Google Analytics on my behalf.
- Device and app information: device model, operating system version, app version, language, and session times and counts.
- Approximate location: Google Analytics derives your country, region and city from a masked version of your IP address. It does not use Location Services or GPS and does not collect your precise location.
What is not collected or done
- No advertising identifier.
- On iPhone the app uses the analytics library without Apple's advertising framework, so the IDFA is never read and the app never shows the "Allow tracking" prompt.
- On Android the advertising ID permission is removed and advertising-ID collection is switched off.
- Advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalization are set to "denied" in the app (Google consent mode).
- Google Signals is turned off, and the Analytics property is not linked to Google Ads or any other advertising product.
- Analytics data is not used for advertising, is not combined with data from other companies' apps or websites to track you, and is never sold.
Retention
User-level and event-level analytics data is kept for 14 months after your last activity in the app and is then deleted automatically by Google. Aggregated reports that do not identify any user or device, for example "120 people completed onboarding on Monday", may be kept longer.

Data processing for in-app purchases
Ring Timer is free to use. The core timer is never locked. Optional Pro features are sold as subscriptions (monthly or annual, the annual plan may include a free trial) or as a one-time lifetime purchase.
Apple App Store and Google Play
Payments are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). I never receive or store your name, email, card number or billing address. Your purchase is subject to the privacy policy of the store you use: Apple Privacy Policy, Google Privacy Policy. You manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
RevenueCat
To validate purchases and unlock Pro, the app uses RevenueCat, Inc. (1032 E Brandon Blvd #3003, Brandon, FL 33511, USA), a subscription management service that acts as a data processor on my behalf.
When the app talks to RevenueCat (for example on launch, when showing Pro options, or when you buy or restore a purchase), RevenueCat receives:
- An anonymous app user ID generated randomly by the RevenueCat SDK on your device (for example
$RCAnonymousID:…). It is not tied to your name, email or Apple / Google account. - The Firebase app instance ID described above, so that subscription events can be matched to the same anonymous analytics user.
- Purchase history: the Apple receipt / transaction or Google Play purchase token, product, price, currency, purchase and expiry dates, trial and renewal status.
- Technical information: device model, operating system version, app version, SDK version, locale / store country, and the IP address that any network connection necessarily exposes. RevenueCat uses it to approximate country and currency, not your precise location.
Ring Timer does not send RevenueCat any name, email, phone number, health data, workout data, advertising ID (IDFA / GAID) or precise location. It does not use RevenueCat's advertising or attribution-network integrations.
RevenueCat forwards subscription events to two places on my behalf:
- Google Analytics for Firebase (see above);
- my private dashboard (see below).
This information is used only to:
- confirm what you have purchased and unlock Pro features on your devices;
- restore purchases and prevent fraud;
- let me see subscription metrics, for example how many people started a trial.
It is not used for advertising or to track you across other apps or websites.
RevenueCat encrypts data in transit (HTTPS) and stores it on servers in the United States. If Ring Timer cannot reach RevenueCat (for example when you are offline), the timer keeps working and only Pro status may take longer to refresh. More information: RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
My private dashboard
I run a private dashboard that only I can access, to follow downloads, trials and revenue across my apps. It receives:
- subscription events from RevenueCat: anonymous app user ID, product, price, currency, store, country and dates;
- daily aggregated counts from Google Analytics and RevenueCat.
It contains no names, email addresses, health data or workout data. The dashboard is hosted by Vercel Inc. and its database by Neon (Databricks, Inc.), both in the United States, and all connections are encrypted.
Permissions
- Notifications (Android) show the running timer while the screen is off or the app is in the background. On iPhone, a Live Activity shows the timer on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.
- Trial reminder: if you start a free trial and allow notifications, the app schedules one local notification 2 days before the trial turns into a paid subscription, so you can cancel in time. On Android, the permission to run at startup is used only to restore this reminder after the phone restarts.
- All notifications are created on your device. The app sends no push notifications or marketing notifications.
- Background audio, wake lock and foreground service keep the bells and voice cues accurate while your phone is locked. No audio is recorded. The app never uses the microphone.
- Vibration is used for haptic round cues.
- Health is described above.
- Billing (Android) lets you buy Pro through Google Play.
- Internet is used only for RevenueCat and Google Analytics as described above.
Coach Mode combos and voice callouts use your device's built-in text-to-speech engine, offline.
Advertising and Tracking
Ring Timer shows no ads and contains no advertising SDKs. The app does not track you: none of your data is combined with data from other companies' apps, websites or data brokers, whether for targeted advertising, for advertising measurement, or for any other purpose.
I do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Separately, if you have opted in with Apple or Google, they may share anonymous crash reports and usage statistics with developers through App Store Connect or the Google Play Console. This is controlled by your device settings.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Ring Timer app does not use browser cookies. The analytics and purchase SDKs store their random identifiers (the Firebase app instance ID and the RevenueCat app user ID) in the app's private storage on your device. Deleting the app removes them, and a reinstall starts with new ones. This privacy page does not set any cookies.
Service Providers
The app and I use these service providers, each only for the purposes described above:
- Google LLC: Google Analytics for Firebase.
- RevenueCat, Inc.: purchases and subscriptions.
- Vercel Inc. and Neon (Databricks, Inc.): hosting of my private dashboard.
- Apple and Google: the app stores and payment processors.
I do not employ any other third-party companies or individuals that receive your data. If this changes, this policy will be updated before it does.
Legal Bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- Purchase processing (RevenueCat, store receipts) is necessary to provide what you bought: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
- Analytics and my private dashboard rely on my legitimate interest in understanding, in aggregate and without identifying you, how the app is used so I can fix problems and improve it: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can object at any time (see "Your Choices" below).
International Transfers
Google, RevenueCat, Vercel and Neon process data in the United States and other countries. Where data from the EEA, UK or Switzerland is transferred, these providers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and / or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Data Retention and Deletion: how to delete your Ring Timer data
Ring Timer, by Anmol Kulshreshtha, has no accounts. You can delete your data as follows.
Data on your device (presets, workout history, settings)
- To remove single items, delete presets or history entries in the app.
- To remove everything, uninstall Ring Timer. This deletes all app data on the device, including the random analytics and purchase identifiers.
Data held by me and my service providers (analytics and purchase records)
- Email anmolsoftwaredeveloper@gmail.com with the subject "Ring Timer data deletion".
- If you ever bought Pro, include the order number from your receipt: the Apple order ID, or the Google Play order number starting with "GPA.". Your data is stored under anonymous IDs, so this is the only way I can find your records.
- Within 30 days I will delete:
- your RevenueCat customer record (anonymous ID, purchase history, device details);
- the matching purchase events in my private dashboard;
- the Google Analytics data stored under that anonymous ID.
What is kept, and for how long:
- Analytics data: deleted automatically 14 months after your last activity, even if you never ask. Uninstalling the app stops all further collection.
- Aggregated reports: may be kept, because they cannot identify you (for example daily totals of downloads or trials).
- Purchase records: kept only while needed to provide your purchase, and for legal, tax and fraud-prevention purposes, unless you ask for deletion as above.
- Apple and Google: keep their own transaction records under their own policies. I cannot delete those.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to:
- access, correct, delete or port your personal data;
- object to or restrict its processing, including analytics.
You can use these rights in the following ways:
- Reset your identifiers: uninstall and reinstall the app. This creates new random identifiers, and the data under the old ones can no longer be connected to you.
- Limit data collection: the app sends analytics and purchase data only when it is online. The core timer works fully with networking switched off, for example in airplane mode.
- Contact me using the details below for access, deletion or objection requests. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
I value your trust, and I use commercially acceptable means to protect your information. Data you create stays in the app's private storage on your device. All communication with Google, RevenueCat and my dashboard is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure and reliable, and I cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Health and Safety Disclaimer
Ring Timer is a training timer, not a medical device. Heart-rate and workout figures are informational only. Consult a doctor before starting a new training program.
